My Bigger Problem

bigger problem

I have a really big problem.

Good news is, I’m choosing to have a big problem because I’m tired of all the little problems in my life!  Last week, I met a funny woman named Cathy.  She said if I want all my problems to go away, to pick a bigger world problem and focus on making that right.  That will make all your other problems go away.

So that’s what I’ve done.  I’ve created a huge problem that inspires me to create an amazing possibility for the world.  I see so many women shrinking back when it comes to their dreams.  The problem is that I see an entire world of women believing their dreams are not possible and doing absolutely nothing to change that.

If only you knew how extraordinary you are! If only you knew the amazing potential you have within you.
I see this amazing possibility of a world where women of all ages attack their dreams with unreasonable devotion.  Can you imagine such a place? Imagine the creations, the hopes, the artwork, the beauty, the families, the music, the inventions, the pure happiness.

I want to live in that world!!

Check out my video to learn more about what I’m up to as I begin living and breathing this possibility for the world.  And tell me, what bigger problem do you want to see changed in the world?  You have so much to offer and I fully believe you can change the world for good.

I’m off to finish my packing for East Hampton! Enjoy your day free of tiny problems.

All my joy,

Ain’t no mountain high enough

“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”

Gandhi

Possibility is perhaps the most thrilling concept I have ever grasped.  Possibility is what sets our world into motion, and makes the miraculous come to life.  It’s that “I wonder if…”, that mystery of the unknown, the creativity.

Jacki Carr and I met at a goal setting workshop in the Meatpacking district.  Jacki is an adventure seeker, a goalspirational speaker, and a life tweeter.   I was so inspired by her, I asked Jacki to share her thoughts on possibility.  I am so grateful to her for making this post possible–all the way from sunny California!

Find Jacki on twitter and also check out her blog.

This weekend, I created a possibility that inspires me beyond words!  I’m not going to tell you what it is just yet, BUT I can’t wait to clue you in next week. So be sure to check back on Monday!

Until then–dwell in possibility!

All my joy,

My Interview with Amber Kane

Untitled 3

I met Amber a few months back through a course we are both taking online.  And wouldn’t you know, we have a ridiculous amount of things in common. Not only are we from the same town, went to the same college, but are both super passionate about life and living a life you really love.  You know, finding your passion and your purpose and going after it with all you’ve got.

Amber wanted to chat more via Skype (oh technology), and we ending up chatting, brainstorming and laughing for 2 hours!  Amber’s passion is designing scarves, and she also loves to see people doing what they love.  For sure check out her scarves and check out her blog!

It was so funny to me watching this video back because in the few weeks since this interview, my ideas seem to have exploded.   I’ve been honing in on some really specific goals (writing my book[s]), and have let others rest for the time being.  If I’ve learned anything, it’s that in order to succeed you sometimes need to focus on less things in order to do a few things really well.

I’m super blessed because I have the opportunity to escape to East Hampton for the long summer.  It has been a goal of mine for a long time to be a published author, and as much as I love my city, it is crazy difficult to find the time and space (mental and physical space) to write anything coherent (congratulations for reading this far in my blog post). So my goal for the next 4 months is to write my brains out and have some beautiful things to show at the end of it.

Have you ever had to reassess your goals because you’ve had too much on your plate?  Don’t let that stop you! Take a step back, prioritize, and continue taking action.  You’re dreams can turn to goals, and your goals can be reached.

Enjoy this gorgeous spring weather we’ve had and have an amazing week!

xoxo,

Comedy and Life

comedy and life

“Perfect is boring.”  ~Tina Fey

I love to try to new things.  When I first moved to New York City, I tried Improv at the UCB theatre.  As I was in class, I learned so much more about myself and life than one would expect.  Improvisors are fearless risk takers, who aren’t afraid to look stupid.  They will agree with you, but challenge you, and they start fresh every day.

I met up with musical improvisor, Hannah Solow, to delve into this a little bit more.  Hannah performs with her team, Fancy Mantelpiece, all over New York City, and studies at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade.  What’s she learned from her experiences?

Don’t be a bystander in your own life.  If you want something, make it happen.

Are you standing back and not taking charge of your life?

You won’t want to miss my interview with Hannah.  Leave a comment and then, of course, we have a lot of outtakes which you will want to see.

Thank you and enjoy your week!
